These terms govern your use of Writespace (the “Service”), operated by North Mac Services, Inc. (“we”). By creating an account, you agree to them.
Your account
You’re responsible for what happens under your account. Keep your password safe. If you suspect someone else is using it, email us immediately.
You must be at least 13 years old to use Writespace. If you’re under 18, your parent or guardian must agree to these terms on your behalf.
One person, one account. Don’t share login credentials.
What you can do
- Use Writespace for any legal purpose: drafts, essays, books, research, journals, newsletters, fiction, non-fiction.
- Export your content at any time, in full, to Markdown or DOCX.
- Cancel anytime. No retention games.
What you can’t do
- Try to break, abuse, or reverse-engineer the Service.
- Use it to store or distribute illegal content (CSAM, malware, content that violates someone else’s IP rights, etc.).
- Resell access to your account.
- Hammer the API beyond reasonable rate limits — see the API docs for what’s reasonable.
We reserve the right to suspend accounts that violate these rules. We’ll give you a chance to fix things first unless the violation is severe (e.g., illegal content), in which case we’ll act immediately.
Your content stays yours
You own everything you write in Writespace. We claim no rights to your content beyond what’s necessary to display it back to you and store it on your behalf.
We will not train AI models on your writing. Ever. See the Privacy Policy for details.
Pricing & billing
- Free plan is genuinely free, forever, for one writer.
- Writer Pro ($8/month or annual equivalent) and Lifetime ($149 one-time, founder pricing as available) unlock the Pro feature set. Current pricing is on the home page.
- All prices are in USD. We may change prices with 30 days’ notice; existing subscribers keep their current rate through their next renewal.
- Lifetime purchases mean you keep Pro as long as Writespace is operational. If we shut the service down, see “Service availability” below.
- Refunds: We offer a 30-day no-questions refund on any Pro or Lifetime purchase. Email us.
Service availability
We aim for 99.9% uptime but make no guarantee. Things break. When they do, we fix them as fast as we can.
If we ever shut down the Service, we’ll give at least 60 days’ notice and provide a final export of your data.
Termination
You can delete your account at any time from Account Settings.
We can terminate accounts that violate these terms. If we terminate yours without cause, we’ll refund any unused prepaid time.
Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is.” We don’t warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will meet your specific needs. Don’t use Writespace as your only backup of irreplaceable work — export regularly.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising out of these terms or your use of the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
We’re not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages — including lost data, lost revenue, or lost time.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of North Carolina, USA. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina.
Changes to these terms
If we make material changes, we’ll email account holders at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after that date means you accept the new terms.
